this is when we will be
this is when we will be
when diamonds are fruit 1
and rubies are candy 2
you’ll be my sweetheart, 3
i’ll be your dandy. 4
i’ll build you that soul, 5
we’ll chew flowers, trace spit, 6
roll out the soft combs 7
six sides bed thick. 8
and sugar, honey isn’t about blood after all. 9

Re: this is when we will be
this is a really nice poem that resonated with me and i sent it, full credits and URL, to someone who could do right now with words of gentleness and evocation and *she* wrote back saying "hey! how did you know to send that just now - it fit perfectly. have you sent this to your girls?"
but you know, funny thing about powerful words: as you read them, a subtle sea change takes place, like a tanker taking two miles to turn or 3 miles to decelerate and berth.
One *thinks* the change was there before and isnt a change, so you say about the words "well captured" but it was you that was captured.
And of course she's right - the emotions and sentiments are ageless and language clear and is exactly what a father should be using to keep his gals on the fey and narrow.
