Camel cricket
I guess the prefered name is now “cave cricket” but since most of the species don’t live in caves, I’ll stick with “camel.” Slightly more descriptive, if not informative. Very beautiful tortoise shell pattern. Fairly common among the native spiders in Seattle too.
It wasn’t out in the sun. It was hiding under a wet piece of wood I turned over. A historical aside, this is the first kind of insect Verity ever held.
