Re: Bracken fern fiddleheads

We eat those before they start blooming into a fern, although ours aren't hairy. They're picked when they're tightly rolled up, steaming or sauteing them with butter. An acquired taste.

Re^2: Bracken fern fiddleheads

I keep meaning to try it. I know a few of the ferns are edible; and the nettles too. Maybe next spring when I've got more planted around the creekside.
